This list of duties is not exhaustive and duties may be added, deleted or changed without advance notice.

1. Many duties of this position require extensive Information Technologies skills used on behalf of 9 News, including the ongoing correct operation of the iNews newsroom computer system; the Storage Area Network, which supplies video for newscasts; WSI weather systems; Baron Services weather systems; WeatherMetrics weather systems; NewsTicker font display system and Pathfire server, used for all wire services materials (text and video).
2. Many duties of this position require extensive Information Technologies skills used on behalf of WCPO.com and KyPost.com, including technical oversight of the ongoing functionality of both websites and any websites we may start in the future. Additionally, DNOM will oversee the proper technical functioning of our “9 Mobile†product.
3. Overall responsibility for the School & Business Closings effort, both technically and editorially.
4. Overall responsibility for the Elections effort each election day, both technically and editorially.
5. Must keep reporters & photographers laptop equipment in proper working order for transmission of TV and website materials back to the station.
6. Will assist the Information Technologies Manager and Assistant Manager with whatever station goals and projects need immediate attention.
7. Must work closely with station Business Manager to track ongoing expenses related to News IT. Also must work with Business Manager regarding ongoing management of the vehicle fleet.
8. Must continue to expand knowledge of hardware/software items for broadcast and IT goals.
9. Perform other duties as needed and as directed by News & Station Management.

Requirements:
Education: College degree from an accredited College or University. Information Technologies degree with Journalism emphasis preferred.

Experience: Must have prior work experience with majority of “duties†described above.

Skills/Abilities:
1. Must be self-motivated and adaptable to changing schedules.
2. Excellent writing skills needed, as well as creative and editorial judgment.
3. Must demonstrate understanding of journalistic ethics and libel laws.
4. Must work positively with the general public.
5. Must be available for shift changes, nights/weekends and/or holidays.
6. Knowledge of the following software is desired:
a. Microsoft Server & Workstation (all platforms)
b. Mac OS X (Tiger/Leopard)
c. Apple XSAN
d. Apple Remote Desktop
e. RealVNC
f. Content Management System (Inergize Digital Media)
g. Dayport
h. Dreamweaver
i. Photoshop
j. Flash, Flash Encoder
k. FTP Suites (CuteFTP Pro, Fetch)
l. Homesite, Windows Media Encoder
m. iNews newsroom computer system.
n. Pathfire
o. NewsTicker
p. BTI
q. DekoCast
