Lab Technician – Cincinnati

CDI has an immediate need for a Lab Technician. This challenging position is a nine month contract that is full time. CDI offers a comprehensive wage and benefits package.



Duties:

An experienced technician or a junior professional to help one of our researchers review and potentially re-write test methods (TM's), technical data sheets (TDS), and other technical literature that are provided to licensees and/or customers to provide guidance in the analysis and characterization of Polypropylene plastics and their formulations. Many of these TM's and TDS were written over ten years ago and often do not reflect current product descriptions or laboratory procedures as practiced.

Primary objectives, as described below:

The contractor will review existing NT Test Methods vs. other existing Test Methods. They will then be expected to consolidate individual test methods where possible. The final result will be an updated set of test methods reflecting current analystical and physical testing practice, rewritten in a newly revised format.

Consolidate mechanical property data for PP products, and review and compare to current PP technical data sheets. Review and update Technical Data Sheets, as needed.

Skills Required:

This assignment requires that the individual be experienced or trained or have some familiarity in the following (or associated) areas:

1. Analytical characterization of polymers (preferably Polyolefins), some experience in mechanical characterization (physical testing) of polymers is also desired.

2. Analytical identification/quantification of polymer additives

3. Computer skills; Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)

4. Good writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively with Analytical Chemists and Research Engineers are necessary.
